Descriptions:

James White is a Professor of Geological Sciences and Environmental Studies and the Director of Institute of Arctic & Alpine Research (INSTAAR) at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He received his PhD from Columbia University in 1983.

His research primarily focuses on climate change and the loss of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through land plants in the Earth’s climate. White specifically researches climate from stable hydrogen isotopes in carbon dioxide concentrations, organic material, deuterium excess, and ice cores.
