The Indian meteorological department has issued a heatwave warning for multiple parts of north India including New Delhi, the national capital. This after four weather stations in the city reported temperatures crossing 45 degree Celsius. A heat wave is declared when the maximum temperature reaches 45 degrees Celsius or more for two consecutive days. As per the IMD, a weather station in South West Delhi recorded the highest maximum temperature on Sunday at 46.3 degrees Celsius.
